Today is Constitution Day, the day that 39 of the 55 delegates who attended the Convention of 1787 signed the Constitution of the United States of America. It's preamble expounded its purpose:WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
I would like to remind all our public servants in government of the words of Alexander Hamilton:
In my opinion the present Constitution is the standard to which we are to cling. Under its banners, bona fide must we combat our political foes – rejecting all changes but through the channel itself provides for amendments. You can read the entire text of this amazing letter, it's history, and it's intent, on some previous posts I wrote here and here. It was in this letter that Hamilton proposed the Christian Constitutional Society, for the purpose of supporting the cause of Christianity, and the Constitution.
Also celebrating Constitution Day is the Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization. Today happens to mark their first anniversary. They are celebrating the event in the lovely chapel of Hamilton College (Clinton, NY) with a lecture on Constitutional jurisprudence. The lecture is open to the public, so if you are in the local area of Clinton New York, be sure to attend!

The Alexander Hamilton Institute is a wonderful organization, dedicated to helping reclaim genuine higher education. I was honored to be present at their last big event, this past April.
But however you choose to go about the day, be sure to spend some time remembering and reflecting upon our constitutional foundations. They are a precious gift handed down to us by our forefathers. The struggle for liberty did not end with the white flag at Yorktown, or even with the last pen-stroke on the Constitution. It will never end. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
God bless America.

It has a "document of the day," and today's is (of course) the U.S. Constitution. Full disclosure: I did a little bit (very little bit) of editing for this new series, which to me looks incredibly jam-packed with good info.
Thanks, Anonymous. I may have heard of the site, but I probably didn't take too much notice until you brought it to my attention. Thanks so much for sharing it. I will put the links on my sidebar.
